Planning to try for a baby in the future? Check out what not to do right now if you don’t want to hinder your ability to conceive. Here are the factors that can interfere with fertility. You can prevent this long before you get pregnant.

Overweight

Do you have a few pounds too much? It’s a good idea to get rid of them before you and your partner start trying to expand your family. Being overweight can cause a lot of problems, also in terms of fertility. Obesity has been proven to disrupt ovulation, but overweight men are also at greater risk of infertility. You can start losing weight as soon as you think about having a baby. In just a few months you can lose a lot of weight – healthily! – lose a lot of weight in just a few months.

Smoking

If you smoke, do everything you can to stop this harmful habit, even if you are not planning to have a baby. If, on the other hand, you have such plans, it’s hard to imagine not planning to quit smoking. It has a very negative effect on fertility for both men and women. In the case of couples trying for a long time to have a baby, it often turns out that smoking has a negative effect on the quality of semen, for example. In turn, the compounds contained in cigarette smoke disrupt the work of the entire body, including the endocrine system.

Improper sleep

Are you dreaming of enlarging your family? First of all… get enough sleep! Yes, yes, a good night’s sleep has a positive effect on our entire body and regulates its work. However sleep deprivation can upset your hormonal system and weaken your immunity. So already now do everything to improve the quality of your sleep. You should sleep 6-8 hours a day, and for better relaxation limit the use of the phone just before bedtime.

Physical activity

This point may or may not involve maintaining a healthy body weight. Even if you don’t have extra pounds to lose, daily moderate physical activity has a positive effect on fertility. So without a doubt it is worth going for even a short walk every day, and 2-3 times a week think about more intensive activities like running, a trip to the pool or cardio in an organized group. This will certainly not do any harm, and will positively affect the operation of all systems in your body.

Diet

Already think about a balanced, healthy diet rich in vitamins. It is not about denying yourself a hundred percent of sweets or a glass of wine, but definitely the basis of your nutrition should be good fats, vegetables and fruits. Incorporate 4-5 healthy meals a day into your daily menu and try to eat every 3-4 hours. Healthy eating also means hydrating your body, so a bottle of still water should always be where you are, handy.

As you can see, many factors affect female and male fertility, and anyone who wants to expand their family should pay attention to all of them. If you take care of your body weight, diet, physical activity early enough, as well as give up stimulants and pay attention to the quality of your sleep, you are doing everything to support your natural fertility.
